Compositionally, i wanted to display line and shape with the strong lines in between boards and the three strong circles. I did not follow the rule of the thirds with the space in between the boards but with the nails. This is displayed with the texture itself of the boards but also the pebbles and leaves stuck in between the texture of the board. I left it in color because of the rust coming through the gray boards bringing in strong color. Also the little specks of color from the leaves stuck in the boards which brings your eye around the photo. The shutter speed of the photo was fast and a large depth of field. The ISO would have been 200 and white balance would have been set to sunny. I took the picture close up to get the detail of the wood and i didn't angle the camera. I believe i showed an interesting view in a photo. People walk down this boardwalk everyday and dont stop to see the color and texture of the boards close up.

The composition of this photo is an overlay. I overlaid a picture of me from our studio portraits and a photo i took outside of a tree trunk that i turned black and white. There is a great spot of negative space behind me in the photo. The point of view is facing front and close up. The shutter speed was fast and there was a large depth of field to get all of the details of my face. Also in the other photo photo had a fast shutter speed and a large depth of field to get the detail of the tree. The ISO of the tree would be 200 and the ISO for the face would be around 800. The white balance for the tree would be sunny and the white balance for my face was a preset light balance because of all the light sources. The lighting in the photo of me was coming from a lamp to the left of me (displayed on the right in the photo). The point of view i wanted to display in the photo was the toughness of skin. How some people have tougher skin in a sense that they have dealt with certain circumstances and through those tough experiences they have growth thicker skin. In this case my skin is tough as bark.

This photo took of a puddle in my yard that displayed a tree in it. Compositionally i did not pay particular attention to rule of thirds. I did position the camera upside down so that you could see the tree in full in the photo. It has texture of the surface around the puddle changing from smooth mud to textured leaves and matted grass. I also enjoy the strong texture of the pavement in the bottom of the photo especially because it is cracked because it creates lines and shapes. I display line and shape with the idea that you can see all the individual branches creating shapes and lines in the puddle. I took the photo remotely close but not very close. The shutter speed was set fast. There was a large depth of field because everything is in focus. I kept the photo in color so that it didnt have a very gloomy point of view. What i am trying to portray is that if you stop to look around even on a gloomy rainy day you can find beautiful things in even the simplest things. My ISO would be around 500 because it was cloudy and the white balance would be set to cloudy. It creates a gloomy mood with the creepiness of the trees and the feeling of fall which is shown with the leaves but the sense of color of the fall leaves gives it a less gloomy feel.
